Looking good buddy! I've got a few things in my head as well. Robert said on his next order of guitars, getting ready for the holidays, he might consider having some new models as regular stock besides the LP line. When he comes back on the forum, hopefully next week or so, he will have plenty of concepts to look at... Cool

Thought I'd resurrect this thread and let you guys in on my plan: I'm looking for a new home for my Epiphone Broadway and my Lone Star tres cubano (a guitar-ish instrument used in Afro-Caribbean music, got it just to try something new, but it's collecting dust now).

I figure it's best to make room (physically and financially) for one guitar that I WILL play, rather than keep instruments around that deserve to be played but aren't. What I want to make room for is this:

I saw pics of these a few months ago and they've been in the back of my mind ever since. This pic is the one I originally saw, an '09 model done in a dark gunmetal metallic which looks almost black, with nickel hardware.

Then yesterday, I saw this here:

Apparently the black with gold hardware ones were done by Gibby in 2002 along with these:

To quote Ferris Bueller, it is so choice...

I asked Robert about doing a black/gold one which would go along with my Black Beauty, and I'm just waiting for his reply. If any of you guys are interested in either of my axes, just let me know, and help a brother out Laughing

The red one sure is purty too... this is gonna be a tough call. Depends on whether Robert can do this one; then I gotta pick a color. Match my LP or do something else? I've seen V Customs on some of the Chinese "Ebay" sites, so somebody over there is making 'em... hope Robert's guys are among them...

I just heard from Robert. The V Custom is a go! Or actually, can BECOME a go as soon as I sell my Epiphone. I've cut my price down to $600 plus shipping CONUS, so if you guys are looking for a real sweetheart of a jazzbox, MIK to boot, let me know. Daddy needs an NGD! Laughing

Yah, I'm pretty fired up about it myself. A V Custom - something you don't see every day, and it is SO choice Smile

Told the wifey my plan... "see honey, I won't be spending any extra cash to get the new guitar, it's more like a trade... yeah, that's the ticket... a trade... I just sell the old one and replace it with a new one. See how that works?"

I shoulda been a diplomat, I tells ya... Laughing

Those are really nice. I would lose the pickguard to show more wood, but it's a winner either way. Good luck on the sale of the other one.

Well, the V has been ordered. And Robert said he liked the concept so much that he has ordered a few more to keep in stock! So if you guys like my idea, you'll have an opportunity to score one when they come in. You probably could reserve one, actually... Wink

I also happen to know there are a bunch more cool new things coming that he has not stocked before, so stay tuned...

Aw c'mon, tell us. I've asked Robert about new stuff but he never replied, so you're as good a source as any.

OK, OK, you twisted my arm! Very Happy

From a PM Robert sent me:

"There will be the Black Tony Lommi SG and a red SG
a White Teardrop somewhat like the VOX
A couple colors of PRS style Transparent blue and red
The Brown burst Tele Jr like the pic someone posted on this forum
Some more RR guitars
Some gold tops LP's along with peoples favorite the cherry sunburst.
and of course the custom flying V of which I ordering a few extra
in case they sell good.... can't see why not! They are beauties!

These will be here in about 80 to 90 days"

This is bound to give you more GAS than pork chops with a side of beans and sauerkraut... Laughing
