This thread is where we can float ideas to Robert Olson for new guitars. It's not my call to make as far as what he will choose to build, but he is looking for input from guitarists on what we want in our axes.

That said, here are a few things I'd buy if budget (and wifey) allowed:

1. ’54 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty with a P90 in the bridge and an Alnico V "staple" neck pickup, and optional Bigsby vibrato

2. ’55 Les Paul Special in TV Yellow/cherry/2 tone black and yellow burst, w/2 P90 pickups and wraparound bridge (it's not a Special without that detail!)

'63 Gibson ES-125TCD thinline hollowbody (think George Thorogood) Cool

Now let your creativity flow and show us your ideas!

Those are some beauties.

I'd love to see some Doublecut's (Yamaha Horn style) with a Bigsby. Solid or Semi Hollow, fully bound body, neck and headstock.

Hmm, I would think that a Doublecut would be great. I personally like the PRS Mira.

Cool on your custom. When did you pull the trigger on that?

A bit ago some time. November 30th. WHOAA WERE HALF WAY THERE! hehe. I did get some pics of the wood of my guitar which i though was neato. I think its the only guitar roberts done with one off color too, the Slash color is so different from other colors.

That sounds extremely cool. Can you post up some of those pics? Don't be a tease now! Laughing

Ya I definitely want to see some pictures of that. On the custom note, mine is an ES-335 replica of Clapton's 1963 Gibby that he used in cream. It will have a mahogany neck and block MOP inlays and cherry finish. The only difference is that I ordered ebony instead of rosewood because I like ebony better...

Here's a tip, since the way this board works is different from AGF's format. This board is running on the phpBB 2.0x software, which is an older version (the latest version is now 3.0.6). The host server's admin gets to choose what options are available to me for this board. They don't allow us to have image galleries on-site, so here's the workaround if you're having trouble posting pics or getting an avatar to work:

http://guitarsforrealmusicians.s2.bizhat.com/viewforum.php?f=21

Hope that answers any questions you may have!

A PRS 513 would be nice.

Or maybe an Ibanez JS1200.

Of course a JEM7V would be awesome, but I feel like the design is so unique it might be hard to avoid a lawsuit. And sure, you could get around it by omitting the monkey grip, but I wouldn't want one without it!

+1 on that PRS. Rondo has the Hawker; bet Robert could do something similar.
