Hey...I'm new to the forum...but I've been researching these R.M. Olson guitars. Seems to be getting pretty favorable reviews. Certainly sounds like a great value for the money. I'm looking at getting a semi hollowbody les paul style guitar from Olson...curious what people who own them are saying? How do they compare to agile, gibby's, or even epi's? Thanks for any input!

Trigger pulled, eh? Nice!

I hear that they have good points and bad points, same as every guitar. I think you'll like what you get, though.

Welcome to the forum!

Good call. Welcome to the forum, and enjoy the guitar! I think you'll be happy with it. Just put up a review when you receive it and show us some pics too! I have mine on the way also and hopefully it will be here next week. I'm pretty excited myself... Very Happy

Hey Craig!

I see you own an '09 R. M. Olson spruce/mahogany Martin-style dreadnought .... did you have a review on it? Have you played a few Martin's to compare???

Let me know, if all goes well on the hollow-body I was thinking of having a Martin or Taylor style acoustic built.

I did post a review when I got it, but the forum was accidentally set to automatically delete old posts (I changed that now) so my review got flushed, unfortunately. That guitar is just phenomenal. I couldn't put it down for weeks, which doesn't happen with just any guitar as you know... sometimes they just have that vibe that keeps you playing them, which is how I feel about this one. Been busy with our new baby lately and haven't been playing as much, but I plan to get back into it and play for my son; he's a musician in the making Very Happy

EDIT: Here are some pics I originally included with my review. Especially note the inner bracing shot. The pic is grainy but rest assured the bracing is done very well; nice and clean and professional. And the sound is just as crisp and resposive as it should be.

I will definitely put an RM Olson acoustic on my wish list for the future. At the present, I am really digging my new RM Olson 3-pickup Tear Drop Silver Burst Les Paul. I still haven't quite gotten used to that fat vintage PAF sound, but I love it.

I've already volunteered to be the Guinea pig for when he ventures into the realm of 12 strings..
