I've been meaning to get a cab for my trusty '65 Gibson GA-15RVT for a while. I've been on the hunt for a 2x12 and finally found one. The reason I've been having a hard time is that the amp only has an 8ohm tap, and most 2x12 cabs I have found are 4 or 16 ohms.
My local shop has a lightly used (pretty much mint really) Fender Supersonic 2x12 cab with Celestion Vintage 30's. These go for $599 new and this used one is $400. It's one of these:

Does anyone have any experience with these? I haven't been able to try it out yet, but hope to do it tomorrow or Tues. I just want to make sure that it's a good cab and will work well for my musical style (mostly classic rock ala Cream, Sabbath and so on, with the occasional harder song thrown in).
Also, please don't suggesting buying online, as I live in Atlantic Canada, and shipping heavy items like that is very prohibitive ($150+), so I have to buy local.
Thanks in advance,

No experience with that particular cab but I am definitely a fan of the vintage 30s. I have them in my 4x12 Carvin cab and they sound great. _________________ When someone asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" The kaka thing is that I can't try it out with my amp, as it's 3hrs away at my house. The cab is near where I'm at for work. I'm hoping they'll go well together. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build
