Thanks, I'll try that, would it work with the bridge studs instead of a bolt?

If they're long enough and the threaded section is long enough, probably, but it's a question of whether you can apply enough torque with it being just a slotted screw. Depends on how tight the insert is in the body... if it's too tight, that would be when a hex head bolt would come in handy... just check and see.

Alright, I'll try that, now to find some bolts that fit.

Get a longer bolt of the same size/thread pitch and screw it in. It should begin to pull the insert out of the body as you crank it down. Since it doesn't have a point on it like a screw, it should not drive itself into the body wood.

I've also seen where a smaller bolt is dropped into the sleeve upside down (head of the bolt at the bottom and threads pointing up.)

Then begin to thread the original bridge screw back in and the sleeve should rise out of the guitar body.

This works on the same principal as the method Craig had mentioned. Its basically choose the flavor of kool-aid you want.

As far as I can tell these are the only two methods that will leave your finish with little to no damage.

This is the method I used when changed the bridge to a Wilk roller bridge on my Olson 335.

Well I still haven't decided on a color, but I going to start taking off the current finish some time this week, and I should have a decision on the color by then. I probably won't get around to refinishing it until after Chirstmas when I have some more money to spend on supplies.
