For those wondering, it stands for New Audiophile Speakers Day.

I recently scored as HUGE (as in $300 below normal used price) deal on new (to me) speakers for my stereo system. They are a pair of Soliloquy 5.3's. Really nice 3-way floorstanding speakers, made in USA back in 2000. These were about $2000 when new.

For anyone into audiophile stuff, these are incredible speakers. The imaging and clarity is leaps and bounds above my old Polk Monitor 5's and it just added a whole other dimension to my system. They are good sized speakers for my room, and weigh about 80 lbs each. They do need a bit of breathing room, and it was recommended to me about 3 feet from any walls.

I listen only to vinyl on it, no CDs or MP3s. My current set-up is:

- Pro-ject Xpression III turntable: carbon fiber tonearm, acrylic platter, Ortofon 2M Red cartridge

- 1977 Marantz 1090 integrated amplifier

- Soliloquy 5.3, bi-wired to the amp

I don't know how many folks here are into this kind of stuff, but vinyl and guitar are my two main hobbies. I enjoy them both equally, and won't pick a favorite Razz As with all things here, pics or it didn't happen. So without further ado, here are pics (albeit crappy ones) of my current set-up:

That looks like a very nice system you have there. Vintage stuff has a charm all its own. I like it!

Nice, very nice indeed. If you're looking for some vinyl, let me know. I have around 600 albums and I am getting rid of them soon.
