|

Hey guys my name is Mitch,I live in the freezing cold of Canada, and I work in the Oil and Gas Industry,I used to play guitar professionally but now I just play at home or around fires while drinking, lol.Thats enough about me though.
So I've been researching guitar kits for a while now,and I finally broke down and bought a flying vee guitar kit from Robert on Ebay today, and I can't wait to get it,ideas are passing through me every second on what to do with it,I usally custom wire every guitar I buy,but it's always so hard to decide on which circut style, should I use linear or audio taper potentiometers, what capacitor type, should I add a treble bleed system? Then there's the paint problem, paint, tint or stain, which color, what finish, should I add a venner flamed top, quarter sawn top or leave the top natural? So many ideas.
But before I do all that and make my decisions,im going to put the guitar together right out of the box,put a set of strings on it,tune it,set it up and play it.Then I'll post a video on Youtube as a review of sorts to give an idea of the product I bought(however that being said there will be no discredit on anyones behalf whatsoever)yes there will be sounds clips of all tones, then the guitar comes back apart, then I will spend the next few weeks creating a monster. Not sure on how the finish will look, but it will sound like the voice of God when im done but who knows it already might!Progress pictures will be posted here in the forum somewhere through every step and of course ideas and tips are always welcomed
all the best

Welcome to our corner of the internet Mitch.
Can't wait to see/read your review. _________________ When someone asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" Welcome Mitch! I've been wondering about the kits, so this will be a good first review. Where are you at in the frigid north? I'm currently in PEI doing research, but usually live in Fredericton, NB. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build

Welcome aboard Mitch! We have a few folks from the frosty North here. I happen to hail from south of the border (in relation to you), specifically Milwaukee, WI. Now I live in Arizona. Large number of Canuck snowbirds invading around this time of year, and with my Northern accent people sometimes mistake me for a Canadian (I tend to use "eh" sometimes, ya know? )
Anyhow, welcome and we look forward to updates on your new toy! _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |
