Slummin' as well. 18 pack of Miller High Life in da house. It is my hometown brew after all... |
I found that high life with some lime is better than any corona you've ever had... _________________ When someone asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" Definitely not slummin' yesterday... This was a good one. Would've been better if I'd had it a bit colder; it was probably around 55° which allowed the full fury of the malt to whack the tastebuds rather hard. It was very smooth, however, and got a nice head which dissipated pretty slowly. I used a champagne flute in lieu of the usual goblet, since I don't currently have one, which made for at least 6 pours from that big bottle The illustrious Belgian yeast was definitely present and had a nice nutmeg-ish overtone, which in combination with the malt made for a slightly sweet, easy drinking session. The alcohol was well masked and boy, did it sneak up on me
I would have to say that I still prefer Chimay Tripel over any other I've had, but the Westmalle made for a strong showing and I'd buy it again. _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

Had a really nice Belgian trappis ale. Can't remember the name though. Nice 750ml bottle with a cork. Drank smoother than I expected. Was also 8% (in Canada, so around 10% in the US).
Aside from that, our stores finally have bottled Hoegarden, so I enjoyed some of that. Good summer beer when well chilled. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build
