Picked this up yesterday. Haven't had a chance to really try it out yet though. I bought it because my friends who played guitar and bass moved away, so it will allow my drummer buddy and I to have a slightly more layered sound, specially when we go after a pink floyd-ish style every once in a while.

Alright I got to use the JamMan for a little bit and posted some sample recordings. These are using the JamMan as the only pedal and all the amp modeling and FX through GuitarRig 4, recorded using GarageBand on the Mac. I didn't really mix or anything since it was just a trial. There is also no drums or anything, just me and a guitar.

EDIT: I'm using my AL3000M for this.

Trial 1 - Rock, not great quality

Trial 2 - Rock (spacier sounding), much better quality

For a short review, this thing is awesome! Super easy to use the basic features, and has a bunch of extra stuff that I haven't gotten around to yet. I must say having the ability to do things in stereo as well as with a mic at the same time gives a bunch of options for a cool "one man band". I will eventually give a more thorough review once I get to use it this weekend with my jamming buddy.

I just listened to your demos. You sound great! The Jam Man seems like a pretty useful tool to have around. When I get around to recording myself, I think I might just pick one up. Very Happy

Thanks Craig. The pedal is quite fun. I wa sonly using the basic functions, but it has other things like time stretch (which increases/decreases tempo of your loop without changing pitch) and reverse (which plays loop in reverse).

The other thing that I liked was that it comes with 9 (albeit not great) drums tracks, and because of the SD card slot (or USB port, but that doesn't add storage) you can get backing tracks online and put them into the looper and use it as a backing track machine. With the SD card you can have 198 loops and up to a whopping 35hrs of audio.

I like it. I have a Digitech DL-8 Delay-Looper. Although I don't do a ton with it, the looper function in way cool. Enjoy your NPD

I listened to the tracks and they sound great!

I've never really used a loop pedal before but it seems like it would be fun to toy with.

I have used Guitar rig 3 before...what amp models were you using for those tracks?

Right now my current recording setup is Motu 828 interface or Line6 UX-2 interface (depends on the coffee table space I have available at the time) into line 6 gearbox (line 6's version of guitar rig) recorded on to Cubase SX.

Well Guitar Rig 4 Pro has a bunch of new amps. I actually just picked two presets for the demos. Trial 1 uses the Black Stripe Army preset and Trial 2 uses the Metallic Shine preset. GR offers a cool option to start with the preset and then add on or subtract effects to your liking, which is usually what I do. They tend to name their things similar to the song/artist, so if I'm going after something it's where I start and then do my own tweaks and additions to it.

And here is one more JamMan Demo track. It's a quick little version of Auto Pilot by QOTSA. I did it to see how the JamMan handled different pedals on overdubs. Worked pretty good. Please keep in mind these aren't mixed or mastered and that the drum track is a GarageBand loop.

Update on the JamMan. I got a chance to, well, jam with it this last weekend. My friend just got a new drum set, so we were both excited to try out the new gear. I have to say, this is one of the best musical creation tools I have ever owned. The ability to play over my own rhythm as well as layered effects absolutely got my juices flowing. I think we came up with around 5 or 6 new songs. And the best part, the loops are still there, so I can revisit them at any time.

This thing is specially sweet for Floyd-like songs, with an atmospheric feel. If anyone is looking for one or even on the fence, I absolutely recommend it.
