I've been wandering around the web the last couple days and came across a couple of very cool high end brands which are really making me wish I wasn't broke
Hufschmid Guitars, based in Switzerland
The neck joint is a thing of beauty...
Also found Halo Custom Guitars who offer a 10 string, with Kahler to boot

I barely can wrap my mind around playing a 7 string let alone a 10. _________________ When someone asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" Yah, definitely not for the faint of heart... and I'm including myself in that statement
I have to admit it would be cool to take one for a spin, however. If you think the 10 string guitar is crazy, this will absolutely blow your mind:
An archlute made by Cezar Mateus, an American luthier http://www.mateus-lutes.com/index.html
He also makes old Spanish-style vihuelas, and everything he produces is a work of art. His site is an eye candy store/music history lesson. Fascinating stuff. _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

Yeah, I thought the same thing... although they use different woods 'n' such.
The price tag is way different too... the Hufschmid is about 4 times the money Guess 'cause it's bespoke and made in Switzerland by hand, though. _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

It better at that price eh?
If you think that's bad, though, just look at Musician's Friend... over at AGF there was a post about a Gibby Korina Explorer on clearance for "only" $7999. Makes the R9 LP look like a steal at $5999 _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

With that many strings, why not just get a harp? Since it was made in Switzerland does it taste like chocolate? _________________ Guitars- Agile AL3100 CSB, 3100 Root Beer Wide, Schecter PT Fastback 3TS, Schecter C1-XXX

Well, I can see you guys aren't big on the boutique Euro guitars...
Here's a comparable Agile, like HendrixFan mentioned. Being neck-thru is even better. I have to say, the Interceptor has always been a stunner for me in both 7 and 8 string versions. The trans red is the most vivid to my eyes.

I still don't know what I would do with the extra strings
I really liked the 6-string interceptor, wish I had had money to buy one when they were around. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build
