I have a 67 with teh inline 6 fastback. Those are actually pretty rare, dont take advantage of it.

As for hobbies outside of guitar and ^ that I build plastic models and play video games once in awhile.

How does the inline 6 drive? This is the first 67 I've seen with one.

I'm in pinal county, no smog for me... Rolling Eyes

So Maricopa is Pinal County? Did not know that. Lucky stiff Laughing

I used to live in hee haw central, aka Apache Junction Rolling Eyes and despite being in Pinal, because it was at the county line they required emissions. Now I live in Mesa and I'm really S.O.L. now as far as dodging emissions, but fortunately my headers are CARB certified and as long as my EGR valve is physically present on the intake manifold, not necessarily connected to my exhaust, it should pass visually. And sniffer-wise, the engine runs great. I have an Ignitor electronic ignition conversion, and if all else fails I'll run to Home Depot and pick up a bottle of denatured alcohol for the tank, guaranteed pass there Laughing

If I end up moving to Florida I'm home free. No emission testing at all! Very Happy

Well as far as non-musical hobbies mine fall under the boring to nerdy catagorys everything from Japanese Anime, website design, Video games. Though within the last few years I've developed a love/hate thing with cars. - I like working on them (as long as they are not my own)

I too have an old ford that I inherited from my step father when he passed away a few years back:

Its a 79 F350 Lariat Camper Special with a 460 that's been bored out to 490. with a C6 trans - nothing like watching that gas gauge drop LOL

gmzanatta; not too bad actually. Gets better fuel mileage than other cars Ive had. Depending on the model pretty rare too. Still has plenty of pickup, too.

Yeah, those old trucks definitely have an un-quenchable thirst. I get somewhere around 11-12 mpg in the city and 14 on the highway... going downhill, with a tailwind... Very Happy

I should mention, though, that for as much as the enviro-nuts like to bash gas guzzling trucks, the fact is that trucks just plain can do things that a Prius can't... such as haul furniture, tow trailers, pull stumps... I've done the first two with my truck and that big, thirsty motor didn't even seem to know that it was carrying the extra weight. Stock, the engine was rated at 205 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque which is nothing to sneeze at. Now I have a high output ignition and headers with free-flowing dual exhaust, which definitely puts the torque above 400 lb-ft and horsepower around 240.

Of course, we use our Toyota Echo as our main driver (32 mpg), but it's nice to have the beast of burden available when we need it. Plus, nothing beats the bellow of a big block V8 winding out... like Tim said on Home Improvement, "More power! *grunt grunt*" Very Happy

Ive found traveling unloaded, not climbing mountains, dragging anything behind me or just in general having a heavy foot...the old mans truck does decent on gas. Generally anything running the 460 or any variation there of actually runs at a lower rpm at any given cursing speed ( lets say 55mph highway driving)

And once you go to florida (if you do) you'll be able to rip off the smog stuff and that will give a lot better horsepower and torque and maybe even a slight increase in fuel economy.
