Just wondering if I have any fellow pet owners here on the forum. I currently am down to one dog. We had 2 but were forced to adopt one out due to finances - that sucks, but we gave her to a family friend which I am thankful for. She is a female pit named Canela (Spanish for cinnamon) and I really miss her.

Anyhow, my buddy is a Belgian Malinois (police K9 breed, sometimes confused for a German Shepherd) named Winston. Best dog I have ever owned. Smart, loyal, affectionate, and a very vigilant guard dog.

Here are a couple pics:

Believe it or not, the kids talked me into getting a rabbit. Best pet I have ever owned. Not a very affectionate little bugger, but he is freaking cool and great to sit around and pet on.

That's cool - for a second I thought you said he was great to sit on Laughing

I had a rabbit for half a day when I was a teenager, but my parents made me take it back to the pet shop. Probably just as well because my dog was eyeballing the poor ba$tard pretty hard Laughing That would've been an expensive scooby snack Rolling Eyes

The wife wants to get a puppy. I think he'd do ok with the rabbit, but when he gets nervous he thumps. It is funny as hell. Man, that sucker is fast too.

^^^I used to have gerbils when I was a kid (I was basically a zookeeper Laughing ) and if they got freaked out about something they would thump their feet also. It was pretty funny.

The dog I had when I got the rabbit was half dachshund and half cocker spaniel. Funny girl, that one... even with her short little legs she managed to catch a rabbit in the backyard once. It was when we first got her, I was probably about 10 and that was my first glimpse of the brutal world of dog eat rabbit. My dad was going to just toss the rabbit in the trash, but I remember crying and making him give the poor guy a proper burial in the garden Rolling Eyes

My wife, daughter and myself have two dogs. One is a Border Collie/ Shepherd mix, named Lady Bug. The other is a Pug ( fawn color ) named Lily.

Lady Bug is 6 years old and Lily is just 5 months old.

Is Lady Bug a handful? With that mix I would imagine she's got loads of energy... Shocked

Oh man, you are so right! Tons of energy! she's a frisbee dog, one of the smartest dogs to enter my life, we have bells hanging from our sliding doors, so when she wants to go outside, she rings the bells. Very friendly, full of love..

When I was a kid, I had a doby named Sir.. he was great, loyal and very protective. My dad gave him away to one of his buds during a summer BBQ back in the early 80's. Too much Black Velvet and being in a giving mood I guess Evil or Very Mad ( I was very pissed off about the whole thing )
Yet time heals some wounds ( sometimes )
