Pics!!! | I am having to build a replacement for this guitar... cracks have showed up in the paint at the neck/headstock area. Maybe during shipping. I had one that UPS dropped something like a drive shaft on it. The marks were evident on both the outside and inner boxes. It busted the neck good... _________________ R M Olson Guitars & Guitar Kits

Other than that, the guitar is wonderful! Sounds great through my VHT Pittbull Fifty/CL. The ebony board turned out great! no need to oil it.
Frets are excellent, no buzz or drop outs. Th HV 58's have that nice classic crunch and warmth, can easily get ZZ's Brown Sugar tone.
Evenly voiced, harmonics jump, great sustain.
Neck is slim, very easy for fast runs. stays in tune. All I had to do, was tune up and play.
In short, if it was'nt for the finish cracks, there would be no reason for a replacement.
I truly like Roberts guitars, once the replacement comes in, that will make number 3, that I own of his..

Glad to hear the situation is being taken care of. Robert always comes through for us... It does sound like a great guitar despite the finish cracks and I'm sure the replacement will be great also. In the meantime enjoy this one! _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

Yeah,
All the little nit picky stuff we guitarist notice on these are generally things that are non-issues (thirsty fretboards, binding glue etc.) and are easily remedied. And what we cant take care of our selves Robert steps up.
Just his customer service is a testament to how excellent it is to do business with him.
For example:
I recently changed my strings to find a crack in the nut in the g-string groove...no big deal I'm going to have it replaced next weekend.
Had I changed strings the day it arrived and I noticed it and let him know...I'm sure Robert would have done something about it... _________________ When someone asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" Hi all, am new to the board, from Australia, have just ordered an Olson Lp hollow body but with solid flame maple cap to keep weight down, is in brimstone burst, also something different I think will be split block inlays like a Gib LP supreme.
As soon as Robert finishes it and ships it, I will put up some pics.
cheers from down here, blackers |

That sounds very cool! The split inlays will be a very nice touch. Looking forward to pics when you receive it.
Welcome to the board, by the way. Cheers mate! _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

Thanks for the welcome, the Olson LPs have generated quite a bit of interest down here I know a number of people here are keen to see the finished result, as you say the split blocks are of great interest, will see if Robert can post some pics when he finishes it.

I reckon so... that is a custom, so I would suspect the owner asked for that. It looks nice on that guitar; it reminds me of the shape you see on some higher end guitars... almost like a wider, longer version of a PRS headstock. On my custom, I still have the traditional LP Custom "open book" shape. I suspect you can have almost any shape you want when you order a custom; the factory in China seems capable of some pretty awesome stuff. I've been really impressed with what I've seen so far! |
The Headstock looks very much the same as the Native guitars!
( or close too! ) Nice design! I like it...... |

Well here it is with the split block inlays, looks cool doesn't it. Has single body binding, I would have prefered double but that gives me an excuse to order another Olson custom in the Future. Robert is about to send her to Australia, so cant wait to get my hands on it. Who cares if it has single binding when it liooks like that.

That looks fantastic. I really like those inlays...
When you receive it you are going to have a hard time putting it down, believe me. Mine was glued to my hands for days... _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

He wanted a semi-hollow with out the f holes so it has a cap like a solid body. _________________ R M Olson Guitars & Guitar Kits
