Hi folks, I'm planing on having Robert build me two guitars asap after I sell a few tings to raise the cash..... what I need from you guys is for you to post as many pictures , front and back of any LP and 335 types guitar you got from him. Trans blue if there are any,,,, bright white, trans amber, gold tops would be the main colors I'd like to see BUT others would be good to see as well.............. also , the headstock shape with inlay, and fingerboard inlays,,,,,,,,,,, please tell me all about the guitars as there is NOT much to be found online from what I can see.

Thanks & God bless,
Terry

Sorry these are all ginormous sized, but this is my custom ordered LP Black Beauty. This guitar is the BB pictured on Robert's homepage www.rmolsonguitars.com Mahogany body and neck, 5/8" maple cap, long neck tenon, ebony fingerboard, real MOP blocks. I got mine shortly after gmzanatta got his 335. Mine is also a great guitar and worth every penny. The pics were taken with a phone camera and don't quite do it justice really. I don't know if you know, but Robert's guitars are done in nitro lacquer, and these pics were taken BEFORE I treated it to a buffing with carnauba wax. The gloss was super deep already but after the wax it was amazing! Shocked

Thanks for the reply, I've seen that one on another fourm I think, it's one of the few it I've see that you also did a review on, what else can you tell me that you've learned about it since you've had it a while now?

The only thing I'd say needs attention on my LP is that now that we're in winter, the neck has shifted a bit and I need to adjust the truss rod. I'm getting a bit of fret buzz around the 15th-18th frets and it may need to have those frets leveled also. I also want to put a bone nut on, and I plan to rewire it to give me more switching options via new pots with push/pull switches, as well as either PIO caps or Sprague Orange Drops. Otherwise, this thing is so smooth playing... the neck is perfect for my hands. The guitar has loads of singing sustain and is very resonant even when played acoustically. I think despite it costing only about a tenth of a "real" Les Paul Custom, I got far more guitar than I paid for.

I also have one of Robert's Martin style dreadnoughts (mahogany/solid spruce top) and love it also. Super punchy, clean, and LOUD! Great playing guitar and amazing value as well.

I have been so pleased with my "Olson twins" that now I have another custom order in the works. It's due in about two months and I am REALLY looking foward to it:

Its not bright white but its the "TV yellow" RR Les Paul.

I know I have more pics of it somewhere - I'll add them as I find them.

I forget which member has one, but someone on here has a semi-hollow brimstone LP without f-holes on top.

It usually doesn't take long. But it depends on what he has going on to...Sometimes he goes on vacation and it takes him a while to get back to us but he generally does.

I was just wondering because I emailed him last week and heard back, the same day then I replied that same night and am yet to hear back from him, I asked what a couple of custom builds would run me with the options I listed and if some options would even be possible but I guess it may take a long time to get in touch with and hear back from the factory in China.

Has anyone here gotten a trans blue flame top before? Maybe Stainless Steel frets? I know the answer may be that these are not available BUT you never know until you ask, right?

I bought the honey lemon burst single cut from Robert ( you can view the pic from the post" some new customs" it is the one that was listed for ebay)

The guitar is light in weight, has a really nice rosewood fret board, neck is slim, very comfortable to play. The Entwistle HV 58's are actually very good pickups. The guitar has a nice flame top as well. I have had no problems with drop outs or any string buzz, stays in tune. This guitar can rock, yet I play more bluesy jazz type music with it. I feel that is where it shines the most.
Very warm sounding guitar that sustains nice.

For the price Robert sold it to me, I could not find a better guitar in regards to quality of materials and workmanship and tone, plus playability.

Robert really nailed it with this one!
