Wow I guess there's not too many RM Olson guitars out there after all? UNLESS 99% of the owners are NOT members of this forum. IF that's the case I guess I won't see any more pictures and or info on the RM Olson line any time soon. Sad

TK,

I've thought about it...as far as pictures go you may want to contact Robert he should be able to forward you some pics.

As far as review info (thats what I think your looking for) there are other forums that have a little info in each. Roberts company, in a way, is still very young so there will be very little info online here are few links to fourm threads that have info:

http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?2578888-Anybody-heard-of-RM-Olson-guitars which really just me listing the blemish problems with my Olson. - mine so far is the exception not the rule so don't judge based on my experience.

His ebay feed back page would be a good place to start too

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=roann999&ftab=AllFeedback

RM Olson guitars seems to also have a facebook page which is still very empty
http://www.facebook.com/pages/R-M-Olson-Custom-Guitars

What kind of info are you looking for exactly?

BTW - asking about them in the AGF will probably get you flamed - so beware.

Thanks for the reply, in fact I just got through posting a thread asking about RM Olson guitars over on the Agile forum, no flaming yet BUT we'll see. I info I want is what everyone truly thinks of their RM Olson. I understand that a very large percentage of the time that people decide to replace pots jacks and even pickups in imported guitars , heck , I've done that, no big deal, what I want to know about are the things you can't do anything about , truss rods work correctly, tune O matic bridge not having to be too high off the top of the body because of a bad neck angle and so forth. weight of the guitar , pictures , good and bad. Robert has a order sheet from me asking about possible builds for me BUT he's been very busy and won't have time for who knows how long before replying so I thought I'd find out all I can from other sources IF at all possible, if anyone has gotten a custom I'd like to know what sort of options you can and can't get ..............

When I got my custom from Robert (first one ever) it was pretty much anything goes. After a while, Robert found that there were too many people asking and not enough buyers, so he reduced to a set list of models and so on. I don't really know what it's like now, as I haven't talked to him for a while. Would be worth asking though.

TK,

For my LP I there were finish 'errors' I guess you could call them and a few other thing that need to be replaced like the nut, maybe the tone cap.

But what you will find with most of us who own an Olson is that we all like the Enwhistle hv58's that come in most of his gear that he sells. I think other Enwhistle pick ups are available as an option.

As far as I can tell no one has ended up with a bowed neck or anything else that is would be considered a deal breaker.

And I think that his return policy is fairly generous and he generally goes out of the way to make his customers happy.

For instance when he found out about the blemish issues with my RR LP he offered to send me an upgraded pick guard free of charge.

He used to have alot of general info about his les pauls on his website.

I'm not sure why but he removed all the links to the other pages on the
top of his website. (A bunch of us offred to redesign his website for him but he never
accepted)

Here is a link to a page with all the links still at the top

I'm pretty sure everyone who owns one here has posted. GFRM is usually really slow, and Robert has only been around for about a year now.

Plus a lot of the original fourms with the pictures and reviews were auto-deleted, if there is no reponse on a fourm, i.e. dead, the site automatically deletes it. I'm not sure if the Craig completly changed this or not, but I think now Craig chooses which ones are kept.
