NEW YORK — A person close to George Steinbrenner tells the Associated Press that the New York Yankees’ owner died this morning.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not yet made the announcement.

Wow it just seems like everyone has been dying in the last 8 months or so. Pretty soon all these figures I grew up with (or hearing about) will no longer be around.

^ and then you die too. Aww its terrible already for me and Im only 20ish. I figure thats a quarter of the way dead. Its horribly depressing. But Ill tell ya this much - playing guitar and being a semi professional comedian really keep you young.

Oh well. Life is hard and then you die.

At least I'm making sure to enjoy every little bit. Today was slow at work - well, nothing at all to do until our metal guy comes in tomorrow - so I spent the day listening to all the jams my friends and I recorded. Brings back good memories.

EDIT: expect these to be making their way onto SoundCloud soon once I cut them up. It's pure, raw jam rock (sometimes you can hear a beer get cracked open mid song by one of us lol).

You guys are absolutely right about enjoying life. Even though losing bits of your life and history does suck, crying about it won't change reality. All you can do is enjoy the time you have with the ones you love and make every moment count. I heard a saying to the effect of, why do so many old people just sit around waiting to die, afraid to go out and have fun? Me, I want to use up my time enjoying life to the full and giving of myself so when I die, I have no regrets. Good advice...
