What destinations(s) would you like to visit during your lifetime? This could also include places you previously set a goal to visit, and went.

Here are a few of mine, not necessarily in order of precedence:

1. The UK
2. The Norse countries (my ancestral homelands): Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway
3. Germany, Austria, France, Belgium
4. Cuba
5. Puerto Rico
6. Canada (went there with my parents as a teen, to Ontario I think, but I would like to see more of it)
7. Old Route 66 (already done, drove it in 2003 on the way moving from Wisconsin to ...cough... Arizona). A very scenic view. The drive was cool. Arizona is not, neither literally nor figuratively Rolling Eyes Advance apology to HendrixFan85239 Wink
8. Hawaii, only because my wife would like to. Me, nothing about it inspires a desire to go. Undoubtedly it's beautiful, but I think there are many places that are more historically and culturally interesting and less trendy.

An interesting show to watch if travel interests you is Rick Steves' Europe on PBS. I'm a PBS nerd and I particularly enjoy his show. Europe is a beautiful and fascinating place to me, and he really makes you feel almost as if you're there.

Awesome topic.

I've traveled and been to a few places not really planned out though - must be my adventurous spirit. Hahahaha

First the places I want to go to:

1.Europe - basically everywhere over there, but mostly Norway, UK, Germany, Spain and Italy

2. Greece (Some thing about the Mediterranean...)

3. Australia and New Zealand

4. Japan I'd love to travel that whole country from Hokkaido to Okinawa (the northern tip of the country to one of its southern most islands)

5.China (why not?)

6. Philippines (I have very good friends from there who keep telling me I need to see it)

7. Select countries in Central and South America (I want to see more of Mexico than T.J and Juarez) Specifically Brazil and Nicaragua

8. The rest of the states - I too haven't been to Hawaii yet as well as many other places I'd like to see (Seattle, Portland, Miami, Austin etc)

9. The rest of Canada (I too have bumbled around Ontario for a few weeks only really managed to see Toronto...)

Places I've been to:

1. Singapore
2. Taiwan
3. Canada (Ontario - Toronto and surrounding)

Rolling Eyes To each their own; I actually like the heat, both of them Wink; as far as places I'd like to visit, the top of my list would be Ireland, as that's where most of my family is from, and then while in Ireland, why not go and visit England.

1) Philippines - G/f's family are still there, so I'd get the real experience, not some tourist nonsense. They live out in the provinces.

2) South America in general...specifically Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile.

3)SE Asia, specifically Thailand, Laos, and/or Cambodia

4) Central and Eastern Africa - Both Congos, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Kenya

5) Europe - Scandinavia in general, Finland mostly; Czech Republic, for family ties. Austria, once again, for family reasons. The UK. Ireland.

Nice list there! Australia and NZ are interesting choices; I think I may need to put them on my list now that you mention it. Mexico, I'd love to go since my wife is from there (Veracruz, a very beautiful coastal state), but the escalating chaos and senseless violence by these subhuman troglodyte drug cartels makes me pretty uneasy. Some articles I've read have even said that at the current rate, unless the contrabandistas are put out of commission the whole government could be destabilized within 10 years Shocked They just assassinated a leading candidate for governor in the state of Tamaulipas a few days ago... that shows how bad they want to be in control of the country Shocked

I had thought about putting Japan on my list as well. It would be cool to see the historic places and museums. I would also love to get a chance to drive fast cars on the wrong side of the street Very Happy

You drove right by my house, I live a block and a half off of Route 66.

There is still so much to see in the US, it would be hard for me to travel outside for a while. If I did get to, Spain and Italy would be in the picture.

^^^That's cool, living near a landmark like that. Or so it would seem to someone who doesn't live there Smile I did enjoy the drive immensely, seeing remnants of a bygone era like that. We stopped at a few key points such as Springfield, Illinois to see the Lincoln sites, as my wife didn't know a whole lot about American history or Lincoln. We also stopped in Winslow, Arizona and I actually "stood on the corner", with my guitar case, and my wife snapped my picture. If I can find the snapshot I'll see about putting it up on the forum; it was pretty cool Cool

Funny story...my dad actually got arrested for hitchhiking in Winslow, AZ in the early 70's. - One of his favorite stories he tells. Makes me think of "take it easy" every time he does.

It was funny, a few summers ago there was an article in the St. Louis paper that Paul McCartney drove Rt 66 across the US and stopped for gas about 4 miles from my house. I was pissed I missed that one, lol.
