I read where vinyl is making kind of a come back. Does anyone still listen to their records. Any decent collections out there? I have over 600 albums, but rarely listen to them anymore. |

I have close to 30-0 and my collection is expanding every week. I have been solely listening to vinyl for a while now, except when in the car. I'm always hitting the record shop to find new stuff. Most recently I got a Queens of Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures picture discs from Record Store Day, as well as Mastodon's Blood Mountain.
I'm into both new and old vinyl, and I have definitely seen a resurgence since the record shop here in town went from just me and a friend every once in a while to around 10 people in there a lot of the time. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build

I'm old enough that I have vinyl 33s and 45s from before the CD era (I'm 38 ) and I also have a stack of old 78s that were my grandparents'. I need a new stylus to play them without damaging them, though... _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

Well, all of my vinyl is old stuff. Mostly from the 60's-80's. I even have some 45's as well. I have a couple of original issue Beatles LPs (my pride & joy). I had heard they were making a come back, but thought about unloading them, now, not so much. |

The truth is that vinyl never fully disappeared. The audiophile community, although small and cultish in numbers compared to the mainstream community, never ended their demand for vinyl, and thus new releases of mainstream recordings would appear in limited runs at specialty retailers, often in 180g - 200g vinyl. My own vinyl collection is around 200, which is about half the number compared to my CD collection. My collectibles include a number of Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs pressings. _________________ Fender| Mighty Mite| GFS| Epiphone| Yamaha| Ventura| Laguna| RM Olson

Well my CD collection is close to 1000. I have been trying to rip everything to hard drives just for easy of use and to reduce the clutter. At one time I could name every record I had and the songs in order on each side of the album. Now I might have 2 or 3 of the same thing- Sucks getting old. _________________ Guitars- Agile AL3100 CSB, 3100 Root Beer Wide, Schecter PT Fastback 3TS, Schecter C1-XXX

I thought I would make a quick post here about my new stereo system. I don't have pictures yet, those will come the weekend of the 24th, but it consists of a 1981 Marantz SR8100 amplifier, a pair of 1982 Polk Audio Monitors and a 1981 Technics SLB20 turntable.
For those of you not familiar, the early 80's were the gold era of stereo, where components were expensive enough to not be crappy, but cheap-ish enough to be affordable. On that note though, I have a brand new turntable coming in tomorrow, which is not cheap. It's a Pro-Ject Xpression III, with a carbon fiber tonearm and acrylic platter. Pics should be up this weekend. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build

They will hopefully be up sunday. I am working away from my house, so I am only going there this weekend. Can't wait to try out the new turntable, it's pretty awesome. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build

Did you get a chance to give it a whirl? _________________ Guitars- Agile AL3100 CSB, 3100 Root Beer Wide, Schecter PT Fastback 3TS, Schecter C1-XXX

I did but didn't get pictures. Forgot the camera home after a 3 hr car drive lol
The table is incredible, and well worth what I paid. The clarity of sound was amazing, and the warmth of reproduction was great. The sad thing is that it showed the flaws in my amp, so now I'm in the market for a new one. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build
