Hey everyone,
I thought I would ask here about my Tele debate. I've been really craving for a Tele lately, and want to know what your guys' suggestions are. I don't have a big budget (likely around $300 tops). I really like this Tele I saw which was Crimson Red (I believe that's the official color) with a rosewood board. Do you guys have any good suggestions of places to get Tele's (or copies)? I'll hopefully be going to the local shop sometime in the next few days, so we'll see how that goes too.
Thanks in advance,

So I take by your budget your considering the squire (or Affinity) tele? Or were you willing to consider other brands?
RavenWest's ebay listings have some pretty nice ones between 250 and 350

Or if you can find one peavey used to make a decent tele copy, fernandes also had a great one though it didn't have a classic look to it. _________________ When someone asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" Does anyone have any experience with the CV Tele's? I've been reading about them and they seem to be getting quite the following. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build

Ive read some of the same things about the CV. I like the look (very clean and understated - very much a 'guitar for the working man' as tele's are described to be) and what I've heard on Youtube demos.
Seems to be a debate about the body being made of pine rather than any of the other tone woods. _________________ When someone asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" Get a used MIM. You can pick one up around $300, I have one and they are great. |

Everybody on AGF seems to love the CV... haven't played one myself, but seems to have a good following. _________________ ᛊᛈᚨᚱᚨ ᛟᚲᚢᚱ ᚠᚱᚨ ᚦᛖ ᛟᚠᛊᚨᛒᚱᛇᛞᛁ ᚨᚠ ᚦᛖ ᚾᛟᚱᚦᚢᚱ |

The problem is that here in Canada everything is extremely overriced when it comes to instruments in general. For example, a CV Squier is around $430 + taxes (which where I live are 13%). A MIM Tele cannot be found for less than $650 to $700 new, and about $500-550 used. The used market here is ridiculous, I've seen people ask upwards on $300 for a Squier Bullet strat. _________________ Newest addition: RMO ES-335 Custom Build

Im still biding my time...the next guitar Im going to pick up is a tele
Im still a little weary about fender tele's though.
Here is a list of my canidates so far for tele's:
BC Rich. TS-100/200 (if I can find one)
Schecter PT
an MIJ Fernandes Tele
aria pro tt te-500N
or a RavenWest tele
I'll go Fender if I can find a Fender HM Telecaster _________________ When someone asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" Y'know, back in the mid-to-late 90s Fender used to have a USA all-mahogany set neck Tele with P90s - ironically called the Tele Jr. Always wanted to try one but could never find one around... wonder what the tone was like. My guess is 90% LP Special, 10% Tele (from the bridge configuration). If I had cash and found one used, I'd give it a whirl
