Does anybody here play slide? Doesn't have to be your top guitar skill, just a modicum of ability. I know a couple tunes but since none of my guitars are really set up for it, I don't do it much. Might be cool to get a LP Special or Esquire and set it up in open D or something... after some other guitar fantasies are attained Laughing

I've messed around a little with side. My step father was a general contractor so I always had some form of a slide to play with. I've used different hard plastic tubes as slides, I've bought a glass slide...but my all time favorite was this length of copper tubing sounded surprising like the glass slide but darker.

Then there is the ol' stand by slide of a neck of the beer bottle. (expensive beer sounds the best Wink )

but its fun to play some blues licks and yes ofcourse open D

Hey everyone!!! I have been moving to a new place so I have been without internet for a little while now. I plan on posting pics of the new place as soon as I get the Net back.

As for playing slide, I have been doing more and more lately. I have a guitar set-up in Open G (My short scale Harmony H801) but I haven't used it much. I have focused on implementing slide into my guitar solos with a standard tuned guitar. It's coming along, but I find it difficult to get the pitch spot on.
