I actually don't have a set neck guitar, not that I don't like them, but before I found this site they were too expensive of an option to consider. Hopefully I get that job, then I'll have money for one. Laughing

Oooo that looks good too. I wonder what a mahogany tele with P90's sounds like.

Another option, and this is a big IF, if Robert can do it I want a Rosewood tele. I'd be willing to pay the premium, because it'd be a beauty.

I would love a Rosewood one as well. Fender has the one ($$$) and then they discontinued the MIM one (Palo Escrito Tele) and Raven West has sort of one and Jay Turser. Maybe an Olsen Custom?

If Robert says he can make a Rosewood Tele I will forever love him Laughing
lot of coin for it, as long as it's less than the Fender ones (MIJ's go for about $1200)

The only thing I'm still debating about a Rosie Tele is whether I want a full Rosewood neck and fretboard, or a Rosewood neck and ebony fretboard...so hard to choose. If the neck and board were a single piece I might go for that. What do you guys think?

That would be very cool. I just wonder about the availability and/or cost of a one piece deal like that. But, you never know till you ask! Hope it works out!

Ya that is my one worry. A good chunk of rosewood like that is sure to cost a fortunate. Well I always have the mahogany one as a back up.

Another idea I just had was to have a mahogany body with a rosewood cap on it (say 1/4" thick or so). Maybe that wouldn't be as big of a deal, because it'd be like using side/back from an acoustic.

The Fender Palo Escrito Teles had a Rosewood veneer on them. Not sure of the thickness, but google it. They were a really nice looking one.

Palo escrito is a type of tonewood, so it's not really rosewood. It's quite the looker though. I want a nice dark rosewood top.

I sent Robert an e-mail about the custom Tele. I talked about both options (Rosie and Mah) so I will keep you guys updated on how it goes.

And damn you Craig for that banner. Now I want that acoustic explorer soooo bad!

Twang is gonna make you a guitar? Or just wire one up for you?

Well we are in the discussion stages still, since he is busy with guards, but making me one. It will be an Ash JM, and it will look similar to this, but with an ebony fretboard:

I might get in touch with Robert as well though, but I'm not sure if he can pull off something like that.
