Alright everyone. With Robert coming back, I'm thinking about getting a new custom guitar. Right now I'm torn between three very different ones.

First up, a mahogany Tele, finished in transparent red with an ebony board and black headstock. Something like this (change rosewood for ebony though):

Next up, a Maton style guitar. I've always liked the way they look. This would be built close to their specs, but once again with an ebony board.

Last but not least, a guitar similar to a MotorAve BelAir. I've always liked these, and right now I think it's the best contender on the list. Not sure on the finish yet, but looks wise it'd be close to this one.

What are your opinions on what I should get?

I'm partial to the Tele myself.

Y'know, I'm not sure if I posted about this before, but if you're leaning towards the Tele, this might be to your liking:

The Tele Jr was a mahogany body and set neck, with 2 P90s. The neck joint looks pretty smooth and clean. If you're going the custom route anyhow this would be a cool thing to have IMO. You could always have Tele pickups instead if desired. Just an idea...

Very nice. There are much more options for P90's now a days. I think there is even a P90 version of the "super distortion" pick up

That is a beautiful Tele Craig...now I just might have to get two Rolling Eyes

I really like the neck heel, it looks like it would give good fret access. As for the pups, I do want a bridge single coil (I don't have a guitar with one) but I might go for a P90 in the neck, we'll see. I'm set on the transparent red and mahogany body though, as I saw one in the shop around here and thought it looked beautiful.

That Tele was available in trans red, like a LP Special, as well as TV yellow and a couple others... Fender clearly had Gibby envy there Laughing

What was the model name? I might try to find one used or something.

It was called the Tele Jr. I think they might be pretty pricey even used, because they were a very low production Custom Shop deal... but it never hurts to check!

Same model or something a little different? If we get enough people wanting a Tele, we might veen be able to make a run out of it.

I'd like something like a Fender Black Dove Tele. Same colors, mah body, Tele Deluxe PG and two p90's.

Oooo that looks good too. I wonder what a mahogany tele with P90's sounds like.

Another option, and this is a big IF, if Robert can do it I want a Rosewood tele. I'd be willing to pay the premium, because it'd be a beauty.

If I get the job that I applied for (and this is a big if) I'd go for the mahogany tele with p90s, one question though, bolt or set neck?

I'm partial to set necks, plus the Jr. was built with a set neck to compete with the LP Jr.
