Cool, I love the brass look, do you know how different the dimensions are from a gibby or epi?

That's a loaded question; I 'm going to run the truss cover and rear covers through my copy machine and send the page to the guy who makes the parts so he has the exact dimensions to work from. They are not Gibby dimensions; Robert told me that much. I'm planning to go through this guy as I've heard good things about him and he was pretty fast in responding with a quote http://www.fretsonthenet.com He will engrave the parts with the text and graphics I want too! Cool

The pickguard and toggle washer should be pretty standard and I'm going to get them from http://www.wammiworld.com/Gibson.html

The switchwasher is the same one Robert used on the Randy Rhoads guitars. I'll just need to modify the pickguard to work on a 3 pickup setup. Probably have a machine shop do it so it's done right, rather than mess around myself and ruin the part.

Just thought I'd mention a couple new details on the BB...

I finally had time to sit down and do a proper string change, intonation, and detail job. A couple things I found that were pleasant surprises were when I opened the rear pot and toggle covers and found EMI shielding paint inside; wasn't expecting to find that. The wiring was pretty clean and organized also. I was also glad to see an ABR-1 style bridge vs the Nashville style which has a fair amount of negative reviews. Bridge and tailpiece seem very substantial and intonation was set without a hitch. Sustain was already phenomenal with the factory strings but has gotten even better with some D'Addario XL115 .011-.049s. Might go down to .010s next time though, as I like to bend more than the .011s allow.

The ebony fretboard initially didn't look that dry, but after soaking up 3 liberal doses of Weiman's Lemon Oil it became clear that the wood was thirstier than a wino during Prohibition Laughing After wiping off the excess on the third coat, I buffed the board with a rag cut from an old 100% cotton t-shirt and it really took on a deep black luster... this is the first ebony board guitar I've owned and I really love the feel and look of it.

While I had the strings off, I also took the liberty of pulling the pickups to see if I could see a cross section of the body in the cavities. Robert told me there is a 3/4" maple cap on the mahogany body and he wasn't lying. Nice quality wood and good workmanship; the body routing is very clean. I also noted that the neck tenon extends almost all the way through the neck pickup cavity.

I also took advantage of the opportunity and polished the whole body, neck, and headstock with Mothers California Gold Carnauba Cleaner Wax (made for cars; guitars use the same kind of paint). The finish now looks even better than new; it gave the paint that "slippery when wet" look. Gorgeous!

I'm beat; gotta get some shuteye now... Wink
